The Vision

We strongly believe that Spaces for Life, in all their shapes and forms, constitute a vital function in the current paradigm change as they act as experimental spaces, inspiring new cultural and social narratives of a life within the planetary boundaries.

If you're building, funding, studying, or advocating purpose-driven places — this event is for you and we would love to count on your presence. This is your invitation to help shape the next frontier of regeneration, resilience, and space-based innovation in Europe.

Intented outcomes

  • Shared understanding of common challenges and solution pathways
  • Initiation of joint actions, projects, funding schemes, and policy solutions
  • Mapping & documentation of flagship projects, networks and best practices
  • Strengthening of the European support network for third spaces
  • Launch of a  pan-European alliance and yearly conference
  • Highlighting strategic solutions to catalyse the third spaces movement across Europe with a strategic alliance from all stakeholder segments present.

Event format

A hybrid format of structured co-creation and emergent collaboration. A 4-days transformative and immersive experience including working sessions, inspiration and informal networking, a subtle mix of work and relaxation that will leave you inspired and regenerated.

  • The detailed structure is work in progress, below is a rough overview. There will always be 2-3 parallel working streams, using different formats.
  • All outcomes that emerge during the conference will  be carefully harvested and documented

Day 1: Synthesis of pre-event research sprints

Stakeholder groups identifying solutions for needs & challenges

            Looking at best practices

Day 2: Mixing stakeholder groups for common solution design

Open sessions: cross pollination between groups

            Case clinics

Day 3: Harvesting of joint action potential

            Integration of emergent topics

            Documentation of output

Day 4: Wrap up and defining next steps

Planning for next  conference and sprint

Leisure & entertainment: Artistic inputs, immersive nature experiences, deep networking, healthy food and body practices provide a perfect blend of work and regeneration.

Two stage process

  • Research sprint before the event
    • A selected group of participants will embark on a facilitated journey to prepare the ground for the event. We will identify common challenges and opportunities in the European third spaces movement.
    • The results will be shared with all participants one month before the event.
  • The event
    • With the gained information during the sprint, we will have a common ground to start working, allowing us to go deeper and produce better results.
  • Rinse and repeat
    • We intend to repeat this process for each yearly conference, thus continually strengthening the movement and our personal and professional skills.

The Location: Château du Feÿ

Ticket

The attendance for the event is intentionally curated.

  • If you have received an invitation, you can enter the code in the REGISTER section on top of the page.

Yes, we did choose a nice location. So why do we go to Chateau Fey? Because they are an inspiring and iconic project, walking the talk. Also we see this conference as an opportunity to regenerate and having a good time. We prefer to have some comfort, good food in a great location, so we can return rested and inspired.

We want this to be an inclusive and well balanced conference, thus also people with low-income should be able to attend. We ensure this through sponsorship and our pay-it forward tickets. If you can be generous, we suggest that you choose a +50% or +100% ticket and like this pay for either half or a full ticket of somebody that could otherwise not attend. If you choose to do so, we give you the option to be introduced to your sponsor at the conference (tbd).

  • Scholarships for non-profit/civil society/academic participants depending on sponsorships. If you want to benefit of a discounted ticket, please contact us. We have a waitinglist and whenever a pay it forward ticket gets sold, we inform you....
  • Sponsoring: we are looking for organisations or individuals that want to support the conference and the movement. We can highlight you in all our communication or also keep it private.

We do accept payment in BTC, follow the instructions in the registration process.
