Third spaces are the best shot we have to create a different world from the bottom up?

We live in the most wondrous phase of human history. A time of polycrisis and infinite potential for systemic paradigm change. The time is now. What will we make of this unique opportunity? The future is already here, it's only unevenly distributed - and usually very much alive in Spaces for Life.

We believe that Spaces for Life can play a key role in shaping the future, as they are showcases and prototypes of what could be a different world. They can be islands of coherence and hope in a sea of increasing chaos. They entail multiple causes like economic, cultural, agricultural, education, social and environmental matters. If you think that such spaces are a part of the solution, then this event is for you.

The experience:

A hand picked group of proven professionals, representatives of the five invited stakeholder segments from across Europe, will have a powerful opportunity for connection, learning and co-creation.

In a unique setting and with a well facilitated conference journey you will embark on a curated action-research, similar to a bar-camp with several working streams, based on open space principles - working on common goals and invidual challenges. You will get:

Our intention:

Spaces for Life are catalysts for systemic change and ecosystem innovation. The aim of this conference is to support the scaling of viable projects, by supporting all key stakeholders, as well as to establish enabling conditions from regulations to funding in Europe.

We want to grow this movement across Europe, because we believe the benefits to be vital for the future of society and that the time to scale this movement is now. Our goals are:

Mapping common challenges and solution pathways
Exploring funding opportunities and viable business models
Initiating joint actions, projects, funding schemes, and policy solutions
Learning from flagship projects, networks and best practices
Strengthening the European support network for third spaces
Highlighting strategic solutions to catalyse the third spaces movement across Europe
Creating a pan-European alliance from all stakeholder segments present.
